Upper Blepharoplasty Before and After

Upper blepharoplasty is performed in Dr. Prasad’s office under local anesthesia with LITE IV sedation. All upper blepharoplasty before and after photos are of Dr. Prasad’s patients. Dr. Prasad’s quick recovery method allows patients to recover faster and return to work in about a week after surgery. Since the cost of upper blepharoplasty depends on the extent of surgery needed, the cost is determined during the consultation.

Upper eyelid blepharoplasty can rejuvenate tired, hooded eyes by removing excess skin, resulting in youthful and vibrant eyelids.

Blepharoplasty Recovery Time

While post-surgical swelling may take time to resolve, patients can return to work in about a week, with minimal to no bruising. Dr. Prasad’s patients benefit from advanced regenerative medicine to aid in their recovery. Contact lenses can usually be worn within a week of the procedure.

Blood thinners, herbal supplements, and nutraceuticals can all have an impact on the recovery process, so it is critical that you provide a list of all medications and supplements during your consultation.

Dr. Prasad instructs patients to apply cold compresses to the eyelids 20 minutes on, and 20 minutes off during waking hours for the first two days after surgery to help with swelling. During the first two days, antibiotic ointment is applied to the incision lines. After the first two days, warm compresses are used, also 20 minutes on, and 20 minutes off while awake to help clear the fluid contributing to swelling. A petrolatum-based ointment like Aquaphor is used on incision lines to help facilitate healing. Antibiotic ointment is not used after the first two days after surgery to prevent allergic reactions, and contact dermatitis which could otherwise prolong swelling and recovery time.
